’18 Super Stock Rules

The Super Stock division is open to any make of North American built rear-wheel drive automobile having a factory-listed wheelbase of 108″ or more, for the make, model and year being raced.
The following cars under 108″ wheelbase Mustang/Cougar/Thunderbird or 3rd and 4th generation Camaro/Firebird will be allowed. No Convertibles, four wheel drive vehicles or trucks.
The word stock, when used herein, shall mean unaltered, as factory available and produced by O.E.M. for the make, model and year of the car being raced. That excludes all aftermarket “High Performance” parts. All decisions and rulings shall be based
on data obtained from the Canadian Service Data Book.


Body must be complete and must be hung on the car squarely.

Doors must be welded or bolted or riveted.

No hood openings allowed.

Minimum 48″ roof height measured at 10″ back from windshield driver out of car.

Body and front lip must be no lower than 4″ .

Aluminum or plastic side skirts allowed but must be no lower than 4″ .

Homemade rear spoilers allowed. Spoiler must follow the contour of trunk lid and must not extend past the edge of the rear deck.

Spoiler cannot exceed 5 inches in height. No forward or rearward bracing allowed. No side pods.

Rub rails allowed maximum 1 x 2 steel, aluminum or lexan. Carriage bolts only for fastening steel or aluminum rub rails and rivets for lexan. No sharp edges.

Cars must be presentable in appearance with no sharp edges.

Steel bodies – 25 lbs weight break. Stock roof, steel fenders, steel doors, steel trunk lid, and steel quarter panels minimum 22 gauge (0.030 ) steel. Aluminum, composite, fibreglass or steel hood. Raised cowl type hood allowed. Rubber or composite stock appearing bumper covers allowed. Bodies to maintain the stock appearance.
Steel, aluminum, fibreglass/composite bodies
– Stock steel roof or fibreglass/composite roof with 22 gauge (0.030 ) steel covering top of roll cage completely. Fenders, doors, trunk lid, quarter panels minimum 22 gauge (0.030 ) steel or aluminum. Aluminum, composite, fibreglass or steel hood. Raised cowl type hood allowed. Rubber or composite stock appearing bumper covers allowed. Bodies must maintain the stock appearance.
Fibreglass, composite and aluminum bodies
– Complete body. High greenhouse only. Five Star -S2 Sportsman or Fibreglass Sportsman
AR Bodies – NGB, Street Stock or Muscle Cars.
Ultimate Custom Fibreglass.
Larry Knott Fibreglass.
Other bodies might be allowed but must be approved.
Weight penalty 54% left side OR 50 lb. weight mounted at 18″ from ground.

Bumpers or bumper covers must be stock appearing.
Bumpers must be mounted in stock position on the car with no sharp edges exposed.
No cut-offs.
Any gap between the ends of the bumper and the car body must be closed with steel. Fabricated bumper maximum 2 X 1/8 round or maximum 2 x 3 X 1/8 square steel tubing.

Bar in front of radiator maximum 1 3/4″ .
Front hoops are mandatory, and must extend from the front post of a four point roll cage to in front of the radiator. Rear hoops mandatory.

All upholstery materials and trim and padding must be removed.
The car must have a complete steel floor and front and rear steel firewalls must have all holes and openings filled with sheet metal.
Aluminum racing seat mandatory.
All roll bars in driver’s area must be padded.
Floor may be raised 12″ on right side to accommodate exhaust.
No sheet metal screws. Pop rivets or welding bracing only.
Interior mirror mounted in center maximum 16 1/2″ x 3″ flat or convex only.
*Side mirror mounted 3″ or more inside of body maximum 3″ round.

Lexan windshield minimum 1/8″ riveted or bolted. The windshield must have two interior 1″ x 1/8″ braces.

*Dual racing master cylinders or stock or racing single master cylinder.
Four wheel hydraulic brakes in good working condition.
Adjustable proportioning valves are allowed and can be cockpit adjustable.
Howe single piston steel calipers allowed.
Two piece steel hub and straight fin rotor allowed. No curved or angle fin rotors. No drilled or grooved rotors.
Cooling ducts allowed. No electric blowers.
Cooling fin plates allowed.
*Rear disc brakes allowed. Rotor thickness minimum .810

Aluminum radiators allowed. After market racing rads allowed. Electric cooling fans are allowed. Aftermarket and racing fans allowed.
Aftermarket and racing pulleys allowed.
Aluminum water pumps allowed.
No antifreeze allowed.

Helmet -Snell 2010 SA or higher standards mandatory.
Fire resistant driving suit mandatory. Fire resistant gloves mandatory. Neck collar or head restraint mandatory.
5 point racing seat belts with a minimum 3″ lap belt and minimum 2″ shoulder harness, properly affixed to the roll cage or chassis with minimum 1/2″ grade 8 bolts.
Seat belts no older than 3 years prior to date of competition.
Window net with quick release mandatory.
Seat belts must be securely fastened to cage or frame members.
Aluminum racing seat mandatory securely mounted to cage and frame members.
Fire extinguisher dated no later than January 1 of the current year, must be secure.

*One way radio mandatory. 454 uhf.
If spotter is used must be able to relay messages to driver.
Radio for track staff to communicate to driver or spotter.
*Two way radio allowed.

A racing minimum 4 point roll cage is mandatory.
Rear hoop must extend over drivers head and attach to main frame rails.
4 bars on drivers door and 3 bars on passengers door or right side door bars must at least form an “X” with top bar running from front to back.
No part of the roll cage may project outside the exterior sheet metal.
Padding in the driver’s area is compulsory.
Cage must be constructed of 1 3/4″ minimum outside diameter by.095″ wall thickness round steel tubing.
Left leg protection bar must be installed.
A fabricated plate must be installed on the outside of the driver’s door bars, minimum thickness .100″ .
No square tubing, channel or angle iron will be allowed in the construction of the roll cage or bracing.

Stock frame or sub frame.
Full frame cars allowed to replace rear frame from springs back with minimum 2 x 3 x .095 tubing. Unibody must install subframe connectors.
Frame height must be a minimum of 6″.
Wheelbase must be within 1″ of stock.
Frame can be notched for fuel pump clearance.
Frame can be notched for shock clearance.

Uni-body cars joined from the lowest part of the front clip to the rear of the car with a fabricated minimum 2 X 3 steel tube with a minimum thickness of .095
It MUST conform to an original chassis.
All mounting points must be located in the original locations.
Front of rear leaf spring mounts, rear of rear leaf spring mounts and rear shocks be located in the original locations. .
Full frame cars rear frame rails from rear kick up can be replaced with minimum 2 x 3 x .095 steel. Springs and shock mounts must be in stock location.
6-inch minimum ground height must be maintained at all times.

Racing shocks allowed.
*Front shocks can be relocated, steel body shock, can be rebuildable, non adjustable and list price under $150 Heim mounting allowed.
*Rear shocks stock location, steel body shock, can be rebuildable. non adjustable, and list price under $150 Heim mounting allowed.
No high-pressure shocks allowed. If the shock is removed from the car the shaft must not extend from the body of the shock.Frame can be notched for shock clearance.

Any ratio steel stock appearing steering box.
Steering quickener allowed.
Any centre link allowed, adjustable allowed.
Any idler and pitman arm allowed. Adjustable idler allowed.
Steel rods with heims minimum 5/8″ thread allowed to replace tie rods.
Bump steer kits allowed.
Steering rod to steering box must have collapsible shaft.
Aftermarket and racing power steering pumps allowed.
Any bolts in steering must be minimum grade 8 bolt.

All suspension components and locating points, unless otherwise specified, must be stock for the make, model and year of the chassis, with no modifications.
Aftermarket bushings allowed, no offset bushings, no mono ball bushings.
Racing springs allowed. Springs can be modified or cut.
Spring spacers allowed.
Load bolts allowed and front shocks can be relocated.
*Mounts for upper arms can be changed, any location or height.
Any tube upper control arms allowed.
Any ball joints except mono ball joints allowed.
No bump stops.
No chain devices allowed on front suspension to limit travel.
Camber kits or top of strut tower can be cut to achieve camber for strut cars.
Larger spindles allowed with minor modification but must be 1973 or newer. NO Corvette spindles allowed.
Spindle holes can be enlarged to fit larger ball joint.
* Any one piece sway bar allowed. Slapper style one piece sway bar allowed.

All suspension components and locating points, unless otherwise specified, must be stock for the make, model and year of the chassis, with no modifications.
Aftermarket bushings allowed, no offset bushings, no mono ball bushings.
Load bolts allowed.
Spring diameter minimum 4″ .
Racing springs allowed. Springs can be modified or cut.
Steel mono leaf springs allowed. No composite leaf springs.
Spacers allowed.
No bump stops. Rear leaf springs can be adjustable by load bolt or adjustable shackle. No sliders allowed. Lowering blocks allowed. Taper and adjustment allowed. 50% maximum rear weight.
4 link allowed adjustable upper arms +/- 1 . Rear lower control arms can be manufactured (1 x 2 or 2 x 2 ) steel tubing or adjustable steel rods with minimum 5/8″ steel heims no longer than stock length. Adjustment allowed by redrilling holes on rear end. Front mounting must be stock. 50% maximum rear weight.
4 link can be replaced with 3 link with panhard bar. Stock lower arm length. Upper arm can not be longer than lower arms. Solid steel upper arm with heim joints no absorbers.
Rear lower control arms can be manufactured (1 x 2 or 2 x 2 ) steel tubing or adjustable steel rods with minimum 5/8″ steel heims no longer than stock length. Adjustment allowed by redrilling holes on rear end. Front mounting must be stock. 48% maximum rear weight.

Passenger car rear-ends only for make and model of chassis being used, and must be centred in the chassis.
Integral type rear ends may be replaced with larger integral units of same make providing the track width dimensions stay the same for that year/model of chassis.
“C” clip eliminaters allowed.
Welded locked rear ends allowed.
Mini spools allowed
No spools allowed.
No cambered rear ends.
No posi rear ends.
No aftermarket lockers. OPTIONAL A 9-inch Ford floater rear end will be permitted.
Only steel components allowed.
Must be centred in the chassis.
Steel hubs only.
Rotor thickness minimum .810
No gun drilled axles allowed.
No ratchet rear-ends.
No gold track or Detroit locker rear-ends allowed.
No traction control devices of any kind are allowed.
No cambered rear ends.
Full steel spools, full diameter. Mini Spools allowed.
No coating or lightening of parts permitted.

Mandatory transponder mounted 14 feet or more from the front leading edge of the bumper. Westhold transponders available for rent or purchase for $250. Track phone number 905 659-3042
Drive shafts must be stock steel standard production type.
No aluminum drive shafts allowed.
No accessories are to be driven off the drive shaft.
360-degree retainer hoops (1/4 inch thick x 2 inches wide) must be positioned at front and rear of shaft within 12 inches of each “U” joint.

Manual transmission 3 or 4 speed, cast iron and Ford 5 speed aluminum allowed.
GM transmission in GM, Ford transmission in Ford. Dodge transmission in Dodge.
Must have reverse gear.
Transmission must be stock with no internal lightening of parts.
No altering of shift patterns and or ratios, permitted.
Original brass synchros must be installed.
Any shifter allowed.

OEM type friction disc steel clutch with dampening springs or solid organic clutch disc without springs.
No aluminum discs allowed.
Aftermarket clutch pedal allowed.
Clutch and pressure plate minimum diameter 10-inches.
If a hydraulic clutch is used, only one slave cylinder is allowed.
Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate assembly may not weigh less than 31-lbs.
No turned, drilled, aluminum or special speed equipment flywheels allowed.
Nodular or steel flywheel allowed.

An SFI 6-1 flywheel shield or a ¼” steel scatter shield must be mounted over the clutch and flywheel 360 degrees between the bell housing and the floor.
No scatter shield allowed inside the car.
Bell Housing should have an inspection plate for easy inspection of the clutch, or you may be required to remove the transmission for clutch inspection.

3-speed transmission or 2-speed Powerglide transmission.
Stock parts only no light weight parts.
Minimum 10″ converter minimum weight 25 lbs. wet. Aftermarket shift kits and shifter allowed.
All cars must have a working reverse gear.
75 lbs. weight break for automatic transmission.
Crate engine flex plate SCA-FP-350L-153-SFI (Scat) 153 tooth.

Maximum 3″ OD exhaust pipes to the muffler and 3″ OD pipe after the muffler.
Exhaust pipes must exit behind driver ahead of the rear wheels or out the right side past the centre of the door.
Exhaust pipes must be securely mounted under floor pans and have no sharp edges or protrude outside of the bodyline.
Crossover pipe allowed.
One muffler or two mufflers are mandatory. 3″ maximum inlet, 3″ maximum outlet mufflers. One inlet, one outlet only. No racing, glasspack, bullet type or Borla mufflers.
Street type headers with 1 5/8″ OD tubes to 3″ collector.
*Crossover headers 1 5/8″ tubes to 3″ collector allowed.
No Tri-Y headers.
No header wrap allowed on headers.

Any 12 volt automotive battery.
Dry cell or racing battery allowed and recommended.
Battery must be secured and in a spill-proof container.

Must consist of stock or stock replacement parts only.
No after market performance ignition systems allowed.
Distributor advance weights and springs can be removed and distributor can be welded.
Electrical system must have a main SHUT OFF SWITCH and must be in reach of driver and accessible to safety crews.

Racing fuel cell in steel box mandatory must be mounted between the rear frame rails and bolted securely no lower than the centre of rear axle tubes.
Fuel cell must be separated from the driver’s compartment by an all steel firewall.
There can be no openings in the firewall and any holes must be filled in with metal.
Filler caps must be vented and filler necks must be in trunk.
Fuel line is not allowed inside the interior. Fuel line can run threw interior if in a conduit pipe must be labelled “fuel line do not cut”.
No car will be allowed to run if any sign of fuel leakage is found. Stock fuel pump only. Unleaded fuel only.

Carburetor Holley part # R4412 (NO HP carburetors allowed!)
No reworking of carburetor other than removal of choke plate, filling of choke rod hole, changing power valve, jets can be changed and drilled larger.
Stock measurements as follows:
Metering block must have following ID on it. Factory stock #5924 or 5925. Replacement metering blocks stamped with #10570 or one of two numbers listed above.

Adapter and gasket combination must not exceed 1.25 inches.
Cold air boxes allowed. No `ram air’ type systems allowed.

Engine can be lowered no less than 13″ from ground to centre of the crankshaft.
Engine can be moved back to 90″ measured from centre of the axle tube to back of the engine block. 92″ for cars over 108″ wheelbase.
Stock set back for Camaro/Firebird and Mustang.
Solid motor mounts allowed.
No engine plates allowed.

Mandatory for all cars. MSD8728 (MSD) stand-alone rev limiter for OEM-HEI distributor. The rev limiter will be located to the right side of the dash out of reach of the driver sitting in the seat with the seatbelts done-up.6400 MSD chip. 6300 MSD chip for Vortec head built engine. All MSD chips will be installed and working during the race meet. Chips must be accessible to the tech official at all times.

350/350hp engine.
Engine must remain stock.
Any tampering or changing from stock engine parts will result in competitor being disqualified from event, loss of all points to date and suspended for one year.
No rebuilding of crate engine allowed.
Repairs will be at the discretion of the race director.
Stock valve springs can be replaced PAC 1210 X valve springs. Any steel valve retainers allowed.
Double roller chains and sprockets allowed. Must be installed by Klotz Auto & Engine Machine Shop – Cambridge – 519-620-4664.
Crate engines sealed from other tracks will be allowed must bring documentation.

Any 1″ thick carb. adapter.

Flat tappet hydraulic camshaft any lift and duration.
Ford 302 hydraulic roller lifters, camshaft any lift and duration. Vortec head engine camshaft GM P/N 24502476 only.
Lifter must be a stock dimension for engine being used.
No roller rockers allowed.
OEM or OEM replacement rocker arms,long slot rocker allowed.
Chev. 1.5:1 rockers only.
Dodge may use adjustable rockers.
Double roller chain allowed.

OEM type as produced. (Steel Heads Only).
World Products Chev part # 043600 allowed.
Heads minimum of 72 cc. combustion chambers.
World Products Ford part # 053030 allowed with dish piston.
GM Vortec 64cc heads allowed with valve spring GM P/N 10212811 and dish piston GM P/N 88894280 or piston with equal weight and dish. +50 lbs added to minimum weight and 6300 MSD chip.
Maximum 9.4:1 compession tested with whisler.
No angle milling allowed
No unshrouding of valve pockets.
Screw in studs and guide plates are allowed.
Stock diameter for head being used.
GM 1.94 intake 1.50 exhaust
Chrysler 1.88 intake 1.60 exhaust. (360)
Chrysler 1.920 intake 1.624 exhaust (magnum)
Ford 2.04 intake 1.65 exhaust (2 barrel head)
Stainless steel valves allowed. Maximum valve stem size .342. No pro flo valves allowed.
Valve spring diameter can’t exceed diameter for head being used (EG 1.255 inches Chev). No barrel springs.

Stock no lightening. No modifications. Stock vibration balancer.

OEM stock rods for engine being used.
After market OEM replacement rods allowed. Eagle part # SIR5700, GM pink rods. Replacement rod will be allowed as long as they are not lighter in weight or different in design.

OEM 2 or 4 eyebrow cast or forged pistons allowed.
Vortec head engine dished piston GM P/N 88894280 or piston with equal weight and dish.
NO LIGHTWEIGHT or high performance pistons allowed.
After market OEM replacement pistons allowed.
Oval track pans are allowed. Minimum 1 1/2″ inspection plug recommended.
No external oil pumps allowed.

Steel racing rims only.
Maximum 8″ rims bead to bead.
* Any offset or backspacing, wheels must not stick out past body or rub rails.
Rims can be different backspacing side to side and front to rear.
*No right front wheel spacer allowed. Maximum 1″ spacer allowed on other 3 corners.
* Heavy-duty studs are mandatory. Must show threads past 1″ nuts.

*American Racer 870
No tire dopeing allowed. Any suspected doped tire will be taken for testing.
Tire limit rule- 6 tires to start year, all tire numbers must be submitted before any race. One tire per week limit.
Damaged tire can be replaced with new tire if tread depth is 4/32″ or more.
Damage claim must be made immediately or claim may be denied.
Tires do not need to be from your inventory for invitational races.

*Base weight 3050 Ibs with driver.
+ 50 vortec head built engine.
– 75 lbs for automatic transmission.
– 25 lbs for steel body
*55% maximum left side weight. For every 50 lbs over the minimum weight car can be 1% more left side. Example 100lbs over minimum weight 57% left side.
48% maximum rear weight for cars converted from 4 link to 3 link rear suspension
50% maximum rear weight stock rear suspension.
Fibreglass, composite and aluminum bodies
*Weight penalty 50 lb. weight mounted at 18″ from ground or 54% left side + 50 lbs. added to minimum weight.
No liquid ballast or lead shot allowed. All weight will be in ballast blocks of no less than 5Ibs and be securely attached to frame of car and no lower than 6″ . All weight will be painted white and clearly marked with the car number.

If your car does not meet the rules 100% adjustments can be made to allow differences with penalties. Must be approved buy tech director.

* Cars from Sunset, Sauble and Delaware speedways can run their rules no mixing of rules.
These rules will be in effect through the 2018 season. Interpretation of any and all rules is subject to the decision of the Tech Director, and his decision shall be FINAL.
All rules are subject to interpretation by Flamboro Speedway Officials, and their decisions are binding and final. No equipment will be considered approved by reason of having passed through inspection.
