MILLGROVE, Ontario --- In a night filled with action at Flamboro Speedway, some familiar faces found their way to victory lane, alongside a first time feature winner.
Grisdale Enterprises Pro Late Models
Chris Howse proved he can get the job done in the No. 55, backing up the team’s Late Model championship last season with a feature win of his own ahead of Kevin Albers, Logan White, Billy Schwartzenburg, Roland Goodfellow, and Scott Gibson.
Billy Schwartzenburg kept the good rimes rolling with another feature win of his own in front of Kevin Albers, Logan White, Chris Howse, Roland Goodfellow, and Scott Gibson.
Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds
Ricky Willigar won the first Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modified feature ahead of Wayde Thorne, Scott Tonelli, Jae Pepin, and Jason Keen. Steve Murdoch put together a strong run with a sixth in front of John Karley, Daryl Henwood, TJ Woolsey, and Maddax Pepin.
Mike Podd was 11th, followed by Rodney Rutherford. Several drivers failed to finish including TJ Marshall, Quinton Murdoch, Samantha Trewolla, Jake Gilbert, and Tom McIntyre.
Rodney Rutherford returned to victory lane in the second feature ahead of Mike Podd, Ricky Willigar, Jason Keen, and Jae Pepin. TJ Woolsey was sixth in his return to the series in front of Daryl Henwood, Scott Tonelli, Tom McIntyre, and Steve Murdoch.
Quinton Murdoch was 11th this time around, followed by Maddax Pepin, and Samantha Trewolla. Wayde Thorne, John Karley and TJ Marshall failed to finish, while Jake Gilbert did not take the green flag.
Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stocks
Mike Gilmour took the lead on Lap 4 en route to picking up the victory in the first Mini Stock feature ahead of Matt Young, Kaitlyn Wallace, Tyler Lewis, and Mike Thonson. Nikki King ran just outside of the top-five the majority of the event en route to sixth in front of Rory Markle and Trevor Hemingway. Bobby Mercer failed to finish after problems on Lap 4.
Defending track champion Mike Thomson won the second feature ahead of Matt Young, Kaitlyn Wallace, Tyler Lewis, and Rory Markle. Nikki King was sixth once again, this time in front of Trevor Hemingway. Mike Gilmour and Bobby Mercer failed to finish.
Hogan Law & McClurklin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stocks
Chance Rogers scored his first career Pure Stock feature victory ahead of Spencer Riddell, Chase Mitchell, Rick Mitchell, and Gary Slama. Craig Cole made his way forward for sixth in front of Leo Labarbera, Allan Mattice, Cam Thomosn, and Wayde Thorne.
Chris Burrows dropped out of the top-10 on Lap 4 en route to 11th, followed by Hailey Hill, Dan Storey, Rachel Mitchell, Mike Hall, Jordan Wilms, Gillian Hils, Owen Brooker, Dylan Peckham, and Josh Glos.
Megan Mitchell and Lisa Barton rounded out the field, while Mark Allan and Mac Ingram did not finish.
Jordan Wilms rebounded to win the second feature ahead of Wayde Thorne, Rick Mitchell, Dan Storey, and Leo Labarbera. Gary Slama made his way forward for sixth in front of Chase Mitchell, Spencer Riddell, Cam Thomson, and Chance Rogers.
Allan Mattice ran inside the top-10 until five laps to go, placing 11th, followed by Chris Burrows, Mike Hall, Mac Ingram, Josh Glos, Dylan Peckham, Megan Mitchell, and Lisa Barton.
Hailey Hill, Craig Cole, and Rachel Mitchell failed to finish. Gillian Hils, Mark Allan, and Owen Brooker did not take the green flag.
The next stock car racing event at Flamboro Speedway is taking place on Saturday, August 3, featuring Kid’s Ride Night, which gives the opportunity for kids to take a ride in a racecar around the track before the racing event kicks off. The on-track action will feature the Ontario Modified Racing Series (OMRS), Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
Also, don’t forget the Gold Rush 124 will be taking place on Tuesday, August 13 with $12,000 up for grabs to win for the Super Late Models. The night will also featurea $1000 to win Pure Stock inivtational.
