Podd and Marshall Victorious in Canadian Vintage Modifieds


MILLGROVE, Ontario --- When it came time for the action on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway, the veterans seemed to lead the way throughout the night in feature action.


Canadian Vintage Modifieds


Mike Podd led flag-to-flag to win the opening feature ahead of Scott Tonelli, TJ Marshall, Ricky Willigar, and Quinton Murdoch. Jeremy Barton ran just outside the top-five en route to sixth in front of Jae Pepin, Joey Woolsey, Steve Murdoch, and Jessie James.

TJ Marshall took the lead on Lap 7 en route to winning the second feature, followed by Mike Podd, Ricky Willigar, Jae Pepin, and Jeremy Barton. Scott Tonelli ran just outside the top-five to finish sixth ahead of Jessie James. Quinton Murdoch and Steve Murdoch failed to finish.


Pro Late Models


Kevin Albers led flag-to-flag to win the opening feature ahead of J.R. Fitzpatrick, Cole Quinton, Ty Cavallin, and Logan White. Steve Laking ran just outside the top-five en route to finishing sixth in front of Rick Burbridge and David Gallinger.


J.R. Fitzpatrick asserted his points lead with another win, followed by Rick Burbridge, Steve Laking, Ty Cavallin, and Cole Quinton. Logan White was sixth ahead of David Gallinger and Kevin Albers. Ed Entwistle did not take the green flag for either feature.


Super Stocks


Shawn Chenoweth made his return to victory lane by pacing all 20 laps in front of Brad Collison, Nick Troback, Kelsey Lamont, and Dave Evison. Roy Wilkie did not take the green flag.


Roy Wilkie rebounded in the second feature, taking the lead on Lap 9 en route to winning ahead of Kelsey Lamont, Nick Troback, Shawn Chenoweth, Brad Collison, and Dave Evison.


Mini Stocks


Michael Kenny made his return to Flamboro Speedway in style by winning the opening feature ahead of Mike Thomson, Dale Millard, Kaitlyn Wallace, and Mark Klotz. Wayde Thorne ran just outside the top-five to sixth in front of Rory Markle and Dave Goodacre.


Mike Thomson’s stellar year continued with another feature win, followed by Dale Millard, Mark Klotz, Kaitlyn Wallace, and Michael Kenny. Wayde Thorne was sixth once again ahead of Rory Markle and Dave Goodacre.


Pure Stocks


Wayde Thorne took the lead on Lap 5, not looking back through the remaining 20 laps en route to winning the first feature ahead of Gary Slama, Spencer Riddell, Chance Rogers, and Dan Cormier. Leo Labarbera ran inside the top-five for a bit, fading back to sixth in front of Chase Mitchell, Phil Givens, Brady Cox, and Jordan Fidler.


Nicole Givens ran inside the top-10 for the first half, placing 11th in the final rundown, followed by Rachel Mitchell and Megan Mitchell. Owen Brooker failed to finish.


Wayde Thorne swept the night after taking the lead with just four laps remaining on the board, with Gary Slama once again second as Nicole Givens made her way to the podium this time around. Phil Givens and Spencer Riddell completed the top-five ahead of Brady Cox, Chase Mitchell, Leo Labarbera, Jordan Fidler, and Chance Rogers.


Allen Mattice was 11th in front of Rachel Mitchell and Megan Mitchell. Owen Brooker failed to finish once again.


The next stock car racing event at Flamboro Speedway is taking place on Saturday, September 9 with the Memorial Night and the Fan Appreciation Corn Roast. Fans are welcome to head pit side following the races for free corn on the cob, while checking out the racecars up close. The action on-track will feature the Super Stocks, Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Ontario Pro Challenge Series, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Pro Late Models.
