Rick Warnes and John Baker Jr. Split the Ontario Modified Racing Series Features

MILLGROVE, Ontario --- With the Ontario Modified Racing Series and Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds both visiting on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway, it was a great night of racing.


Gen 3 III Electrical Ontario Modified Racing Series


Rick Warnes led the way in the first Ontario Modified Racing Series (OMRS) feature ahead of Andrew Massey, John Baker Jr., Robert Warnes, and Ethan Thompson. Bob Franks placed sixth, while Tyler Bouillon failed to finish after contact with the wall due to oil on the track.


John Baker Jr. took the lead with a couple laps remaining to win the second feature in front of Robert Warnes, Rick Warnes, Bob Franks, and Tyler Bouillon. Andrew Massey and Ethan Thompson rounded out the field.


Grindstone Landscaping Canadian Vintage Modifieds


Mike Podd led the final five laps to win the first Canadian Vintage Modified feature ahead of Ricky Willigar, Rodney Rutherford, Wayde Thorne, and Scott Tonelli. Mike Klotz battled inside the top-10 to sixth in front of Maddux Pepin, Daryl Henwood, TJ Woolsey, and John Karley.


Ian McIntyre was 11th, followed by Samantha Trewolla, Jae Pepin, and Jake Gilbert. TJ Marshall, Quinton Murdoch, and Steve Murdoch failed to finish.


Jake Gilbert made his way forward to win the second feature ahead of TJ Marshall, Ricky Willigar, Wayde Thorne, and Daryl Henwood. Steve Murdoch put in the work to place sixth in front of Scott Tonelli. Rodney Rutherford, and Jae Pepin failed to finish, while Samantha Trewolla placed 10th.


Quinton Murdoch, Mike Podd, Ian McIntyre, Maddux Pepin, TJ Marshall, and Mike Klotz failed to finish.


Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stocks


Rodney Rutherford led flag-to-flag en route to winning the first Mini Stock feature filling in for Matt Young ahead of his teammate Bobby Mercer, Mike Thomson, Mike Gilmour, and RJ Croteau. Mark Grieve made his way forward for sixth in front of Matthew Smith, Trevor Hemingway, Rory Markle, and Nikki King. Riley Mercer was 11th, while Michael Kenny, Kaitlyn Wallace, and Shawn Taylor failed to finish.


Bobby Mercer kept the good times rolling with the win in the second feature ahead of Mike Gilmour, Rodney Rutherford, Mike Thomson, and Kaitlyn Wallace. Rory Markle made it up to sixth in front of Matthew Smith, Trevor Hemingway, Riley Mercer, and Nikki King. RJ Croteau, and Michael Kenny failed to finish, while Shawn Taylor, and Mark Grieve did not take the green flag.


Hogan Law & McClurklin Properties of Cambridge Pure Stocks


Leo Labarbera crossed the finish line in second, but was credited with the win in the first Pure Stock feature ahead of Cam Thomson, Spencer Riddell, Chase Mitchell, and Rachel Mitchell. Wayde Thorne’s good season continued with a sixth in front of Mark Allan, Mike Hall, Josh Glos, and Chance Rogers.


Hailey Hill was 11th, followed by Craig Cole, Rick Mitchell, Dylan Peckham, Jordan Wilms, Bonnie Sterritt, Megan Mitchell, Alex Stewart, and Lisa Barton. Chris Burrows failed to finish while Owen Brooker placed 21st. Jake Watson failed to finish.


Wayde Thorne took the lead on Lap 6, pacing the rest of the way to win the second feature ahead of Cam Thomson, Hailey Hill, Spencer Riddell, and Chance Rogers. Chase Mitchell carried the momentum to a sixth in front of Josh Glos, Leo Labarbera, Rick Mitchell, and Mark Allan.


Chris Burrows was 11th, followed by Mike Hall, Rachel Mitchell, Bonnie Sterritt, Jordan Wilms, and Megan Mitchell. Lisa Barton, and Dylan Peckham failed to finish. Craig Cole, Owen Brooker, Alex Stewart, and Jake Watson did not take the green flag.


Gary Slama was disqualified in both features.


The next racing event scheduled at Flamboro Speedway takes place on Saturday, August 10, featuring $15 admission night. The on-track action will feature the Ontario Pro Challenge Series, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Southern Ontario Modified Association Pro-4 Modifieds.

Also, don’t forget the Gold Rush 124 will be taking place on Tuesday, August 13 with $12,000 up for grabs to win for the Super Late Models. The night will also feature a $1000 to win Pure Stock invitational.
